Our stevia leaf powder is made from leaves of the Stevia rebaudiana plant, which is indigenous to Paraguay and Brazil. The Guarani tribe has been using stevia leaf for thousands of years to sweeten local teas and for its medicinal properties.

Stevia is derived from a family of South American natural plants. It develops as an evergreen shrub in tropical areas. However, it can be cultivated as an annual or a herbaceous perennial in temperate climates. The colloquial names candyleaf, paraguayan sweet herb, and sweetleaf are also used to refer to the stevia leaf. It belongs to the plant family Asteraceae.
