Arnica is a native of Central Europe and the western U.S. End-of-summer yellow blossoms are dried for traditional use. Some arnica flower species are found in North American mountains and woods.
Arnica montana is Mountain Rose Herbs' most commercially available species. This arnica species is native to Europe, from southern Iberia to Scandinavia. Large yellow flowers cover the plant. Midsummer until October, flowers blossom. Best benefits come from early harvesting. If handled improperly, the dried flowers might irritate the nose. European arnica, leopard's bane, and mountain tobacco are other names.
