Ashwagandha grows in Africa (Algeria, Egypt, Chad, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Swaziland), Asia (Lebanon, Turkey, India), and Europe (Greece, Italy, Spain). In these warm countries, Withania somnifera thrives. India supplies us bulk Ashwagandha root. India has developed Ashwagandha root types with bigger roots and the ability to live in harsher temperatures.
Roots are used most often, but berries, leaves, and fruit are sometimes employed.
