The Traditional Process
What makes Jamaican Black Castor Oil so special is the traditional production method that has remained unchanged for generations:
- Roasting: The castor beans are roasted to perfection, creating the dark color and unique properties.
- Grinding: The roasted beans are ground by hand using traditional methods.
- Boiling: Water is added to the ground beans and boiled to release the oils.
- Skimming: The oil is carefully skimmed from the surface by hand.
- Purifying: The oil is filtered but retains the beneficial ash content from the roasted beans.
This labor-intensive process creates an oil that is not only darker in color but also more potent in therapeutic properties than conventional castor oil. The ash content gives it a naturally alkaline pH, making it especially effective for certain applications.
Three Powerful Uses in One Oil
Our Jamaican Black Castor Oil offers versatile benefits for skin, hair, and health.
For Acne
1 Tablespoon of oil, rub on palms and make it warm. Massage it into your face. Leave the oil on and soak the washcloth in steaming hot water. Repeat this remedy twice a week.
For Scars
Massage it onto your scar areas twice a day. You need to wait for a while, like a few weeks, to notice the results. The consistent application helps gradually fade scars and improve skin texture.
For Chapped Lips & Aging
Apply a thin layer to chapped lips or aging skin areas before bed. The oil's rich fatty acids help repair damaged skin and provide deep moisturization, while its antioxidant properties fight signs of aging.
For Hair Growth
1 Tablespoon of oil, rub onto scalp and massage. You can place a shower cap over your head and leave the mixture on overnight. In the morning, rinse your hair properly and wash it as you normally do.
For Thicker Eyelashes And Eyebrows
Take some castor oil in a container and dip a clean cotton swab into it. Brush it over your eyelashes and eyebrows. You do not have to use too much. Just a drop or two of the oil would do. For the eyebrows, you can also massage a little amount of glycerin to make the remedy more effective.
Note: We do not recommend applying glycerin to the eyelashes as in case it gets into your eyes, there could be a problem. Repeat the process every night before hitting the bed.
As a Digestive Aid
Jamaican black castor oil works great as a stimulant laxative. It increases the movement of your intestines, making the stool pass out. The oil can also relieve constipation. The ricinoleic acid in castor oil binds to the receptors on the muscle cells of your intestinal walls. This provokes the muscle cells to contract and push out the matter, thereby relieving constipation.
Warning: For internal use, please consult with a healthcare professional before using as a laxative.
For Muscle And Joint Pains
Warm a small amount of oil between your palms and massage directly onto sore muscles or painful joints. The oil's anti-inflammatory properties help reduce pain and swelling, while the massage increases blood circulation to the area for faster healing.
