Description

Profile: Arjuna is an Indian deciduous tree that grows to be quite tall. Arjuna bark has been utilized in Ayurveda for millennia for its health-promoting effects, and it has an unique affinity for the heart. Organic Terminalia arjuna bark is used to make our arjuna powder. The powder is traditionally made in Ayurveda by boiling it in milk or ghee. Arjuna bark powder can be used to make a tea or extract.

Details:

In West Bengal and south and central India, the arjuna grows along riverbanks or near dry riverbeds. The tree grows to be around 20-25 meters tall, with a buttressed trunk that generates a wide canopy at the crown and branches that fall downward. It features oblong, conical leaves that are green on top and brown on the bottom, smooth grey bark, and pale yellow flowers that bloom from March to June.

This plant has a long history of usage in Ayurvedic medicine, and it is thought to be a great heart chakra remedy. Arjuna is reported to have been used by the tenth Lord Buddha, Anomadassi, as the tree for achieving enlightenment, or Bodhi, in Theravada Buddhism.
