Description
Profile: The Tepin pepper, also known as the bird chile or Chiltepin, is a strong pepper. These Chiltepin chiles explode with brightness and heat before dissipating. Tastes little sour and rich.
Details:
Chiltepin chiles are native to Mexico and the American Southwest, but many people grow them for chile flakes, oils, and homemade pickles. These are ancient chiles that have been used in cooking for thousands of years.
Because Tepin peppers are so little, their intensity varies not only seasonally, but week to week. Expect heat ranging from jalapeno to habanero. Spice Jungle creates a balanced hot-hot Tepin blend for your use.
