Description
Profile: Lapsang souchong tea is a dark, smokey black tea that is best enjoyed by experienced or adventurous tea drinkers. It gets its distinctive flavor by being gently smoked over pine bark and needles. Lapsang souchong originates in China's Fujian Province, where this tea is cultivated.
Details:
To make it more mellow, add a splash of milk or cream, or a squeeze of fresh lemon if you prefer. In this seductive tea, a little sweetness is also welcome. Our lapsang souchong tea is delicious in marinades, dressings, sauces, and even cocktails or non-alcoholic mocktails. Dry spice rubs can also contain the leaves.
This black tea has a powerful scent with smokey and earthy characteristics. It has a stronger black tea flavor that isn't overly bitter, with woodsmoke overtones near the finish.
Place 1 teaspoon of tea in your favorite cup using a cotton tea bag or mesh basket. Using 8 ounces of boiling water, steep the tea for 3-5 minutes. Experiment with the steep time and tea quantity to get your perfect cup!
