Description
Profile: The tall, thin leaves of the yellow dock are curled at the margins, earning it the moniker curly dock. Rumex crispus, with its thick, golden, meaty roots, has long been used in traditional herbal medicine for its health-promoting properties. Yellow dock root can be prepared into a syrup, decocted into a tea, extracted, and infused into an oil for topical treatment.
Details:
Multiple clusters of three-winged blooms adorn the curled dock. Its seeds are green in the summer, but as they grow, they turn a rich crimson color. Yellow dock's root is a vivid yellow color beneath the bark. After the seeds have begun to turn red, the root is picked in late summer.
