Profile: Hamamelis virginiana is a tiny deciduous tree native to eastern North America with smooth, grey bark and golden-yellow, threadlike blooms that bloom in the fall. Witch hazel has been utilized by Native Americans for generations as a decoction made by boiling the bark. Our witch hazel bark can be utilized in tincturing and body care products, and can be made into a tea or astringent extract.

Witch hazel is a deciduous shrub with leathery leaves that is native to the eastern United States. The base of its leaves are a drab gray color, but the leaves' upward facing surfaces are a bright green color.
Witch hazel is easy to spot in the woods in the autumn because it has threadlike, golden-yellow blooms that bloom when other trees lose their leaves. Herbal medicine uses both the bark and the leaves.
