Description

Yerba Maté is a traditional South American brew that combines "coffee's power, tea's health advantages, and chocolate's ecstasy."

Yerba Maté is brewed from the naturally caffeinated and nourishing leaves of a South American holly (Ilex paraguariensis). It contains antioxidants, minerals, amino acids, and B vitamins to support a healthy lifestyle. It's a healthy, balanced tea that makes a smooth, refreshing, full-bodied drink and is an energizer and rejuvenator. Richer than green tea, but less acidic than coffee. All Yerba Maté Leaf Teas include caffeine, but the amount varies by variety and preparation. Less caffeine than coffee.

Many people flavor Yerba Maté Tea, while it's wonderful unflavored. It pairs well with milk, sugars, honey, lemon, fruits, and herbs like mint or lemongrass. Some people like to mix Yerba Maté with chai tea. Hot or cold, it's delicious. Yerba Maté iced or sun tea is another chilly and refreshing version.

Both Yerba Maté kinds work well in a French press, espresso machine, or percolator. Use a gourd and bombilla straw to drink mate.

Our Green Yerba Maté is pure leaf, with little to no stem, warm air dried (smoke-free), and matured for at least 9 months to reduce its bitter flavor. It makes a light green drink with a robust, full-bodied flavor.
