They are used in apricot jam recipes and Italian amaretto cookies and liqueur. Taken in excess, cyanide poisoning can cause symptoms, including nausea, fatigue, rash, headache, sleeplessness, increased appetite, exhaustion, lethargy, nervousness, various aches and pains in joints and muscles and a decrease in blood pressure.
